The issue of opioid and substance abuse is one that has become too familiar in recent months. To keep our families and communities safe, we all must strive to be part of the solution. To that end, the Lenape Regional High School District would like to invite you to a special presentation for parents and guardians on Thursday, October, 19th at 7pm at the Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center located at Cherokee High School in Marlton.
Chris Herren, former NBA basketball player, motivational speaker, author and sobriety advocate will share his harrowing story of abuse and recovery. His presentation is brutally honest, taking the audience on his personal journey from addiction to sobriety, while addressing gateway drugs, prescription drug abuse, self-harm, and drinking and driving.
This presentation, as well as a Substance Abuse Awareness Expo, is open to the public. The expo, presented by the LRHSD’s Defy the Issue campaign, will begin at 6pm and include support resources and organizations - highlighted by City of Angel’s “Hidden in Plain Sight” exhibit.
